About Helping Hands Africa

Saving Lives, Empowering People

Our History & Purpose

"Helping Hands is a nationally recognized, community‑rooted Non-Governmental Organization in South Sudan dedicated to advancing the rights, dignity, and full inclusion of persons with disabilities. Since 2011, we have been a trusted partner in delivering life‑saving humanitarian assistance and long‑term development programs that strengthen communities across the country.

Our mission is to save lives, expand opportunities, and empower vulnerable populations through solutions that are locally informed and community driven. By drawing on deep local knowledge, strong volunteer networks, and inclusive, participatory approaches, we work to create sustainable, measurable impact.

Helping Hands focuses on key areas that shape resilient and equitable communities: disability inclusion, peacebuilding and social cohesion, livelihoods and economic empowerment, gender equality and protection, education and youth development. Across all our programs, we are committed to ensuring that no one is left behind."
