Through a very elaborate network of partner churches in 34 countries in Africa, we are able to respond very quickly and efficiently to affected communities in the event of a disaster. We are also working with a network of organisations that support us in our efforts in various categories, making it possible for us to tailor-make a relief to the corresponding need.

Once disaster strikes, assessments and surveys are conducted, needs determined, and - in order to avoid duplication - possible relief efforts coordinated with government departments and other participating organisations. Our volunteer relief teams form community committees who determine the neediest beneficiaries. Relief volunteers are being trained to implement the project successfully, and the relief efforts are on their way.

In “quiet” times the efforts are focused on preliminary activities, planning and preparing for disaster situations. The Regional Coordinator along with his volunteer team, as well as the field disaster response teams, compile action plans and develop preparation and prevention activities with local communities.
