Community Development

Community Development - Image The main purpose of Helping Hands Africa’s community development programme is to promote development among marginal and poor urban and rural communities, offering assistance through the empowerment of people fighting deprivation and poverty in order to improve their living conditions. We train and work with local leaders and members of the community to develop a compassionate lifestyle, caring for their fellow citizens and designing appropriate action plans.

We strongly believe that every person has the capacity to share something, no matter how poor that person is. The objective is to generate and mobilise local resources, using them to respond to the needs of their own people. We facilitate the process by building bridges for social and spiritual transformation, thus promoting self-sustainability.

More than 5.000 community leaders in 37 African countries have been trained, and a large number of them are actively working in their communities, developing several projects from water wells, agriculture, health and education to local initiatives for micro-entrepreneurship.
