Once the children come from school, they are welcomed by the wonderful smell of a freshly cooked, wholesome and nutritious meal. For this purpose, the centres start their own vegetable gardens and livestock farming, which will support them in providing a healthy component to the daily diet of the children.

Where necessary, the children are benefiting from a de-worming programme in our centres, as so many of them are affected by worm infestation. This, together with education in basic hygiene and sanitation, largely improves their health status.

Fighting one of the biggest threats to life in Africa, the children and youngsters participating in our centres are thoroughly educated about the AIDS pandemic, its background, its causes, its implications and the best prevention through abstinence and faithfulness.
