Education is a major key to a successful fight against the AIDS pandemic. Teaching about methods of prevention and speaking about the disease will help to dissolve the stigma that is attached to those who are living with AIDS. This education includes creating a public awareness by placing large billboards in key public location.

It also involves a major training effort, which targets primarily adolescents, teaching them the facts about AIDS, its causes, its effects, its consequences and how they can prevent themselves from being infected by practicing abstinence before marriage, fidelity after marriage and adopting a responsible lifestyle

Another component in our educational efforts is the training of pastors and community members and leaders on how to deal with and approach people living with AIDS. Most of the time, those infected are avoided, abandoned and cast out. We need to show that these are people who are loved by God and who – above everything else – need our care and support. We encourage individuals and communities to form home-based care groups, and enable those in the community to actively engage in a care programme, showing God’s love and bringing a new ray of sunshine to the suffering.
